4 Week Beginning Longsword

Tues: 6.00pm-7.00pm

 

***Starting August 29th at Cuesta College, room 1105***

For those wanting to try out something new, we are offering this longsword taster class. This semester will offer 4 four-week classes geared toward getting people moving again. Come learn fundamentals of medieval combat that will get the body moving and work coordination skills. The curriculum is built from historical documents. In this class students will learn movement, cutting, and defense with a two-handed weapon. The link on the right will take you to the Cuesta page to pick which session to sign up for.


Intermediate Longsword

Tues: 7.00pm-8.00pm

***Starting August 29th at Cuesta College, room 1105***

This class is for those students who have either taken the introductory longsword class at Cuesta or have had some prior longsword training. We will review topics covered in the beginning class in more depth, drawing directly from historical texts.  Partner drills and directed sparring practice will reinforce material learned. 

Fencing masks and moderate protective gloves will be required.


Advanced Longsword

Weds: 6.00pm-8.00pm

***Starting August 30th at Cuesta College, room 1105***

This class is geared towards those who have had some longsword training with sparring in the past, or confident enough from the last intermediate class we offered to level up.  Over the course of the semester we will focus on tactics and techniques of fighting.  Class will be a combination of partner drills and sparring.  Protective equipment for steel weaponry is required for this class.
